We have a new member in the family….
…say hello to Coco Contreras! She is nine weeks old and is a lab mix. We rescued her from the Hall County Humane Society, she appears to be a bit under nourished but we hope to get that turned around soon.
So that makes us a family of six now…and we now have gender equality in our home with 3 boys and 3 girls, Emma and I are feeling the girl power now more than ever.

Week 1 down, 11 more to go….

…in the “BL” (biggest loser) club challenge at work. This is the first time we ever tried this and well week one proved to be a success for all. There are 16 total ladies doing this, and after week one, we took off a total of 56 lbs…that’s like a whole kid!
I am just so proud of everyone; we are all doing our own thing, in regards to eating habits and exercise. It is so nice to see everyone supporting and encouraging each other.
I bought Robert an exercise ball and mat for Christmas, and Emma and I have enjoyed it so much. I need to find one her size, she is really getting into the whole work out thing with me. I like it so much that I went and bought one for work, so it is now my work chair. The funny thing is that after some folks saw it, they all went to go get one…so there are about 7 of us using the ball as a chair; it is a sight to see.
Wish me well, I have a long road ahead (more than the 12 weeks we are playing), but I know that it will be worth it. So with everyone’s encouragement and support and a lot of prayer I know it can be done. I’ll keep you posted on the progress~

The RING…

…so it’s back to school for the boys, Robert started yesterday and lil Raymond went back today.
As most of you know Robert has been playing football since he was six years old, and to top it off, he has been an O-line starter since then. His very first year he started and played for his first Championship title, they didn’t win, but what a ride. We didn’t realize what a great talented group of boys were in that age group around the county, and what a great group of talented boys on his team. During his little league (GFL) days he won 3 out of 5 championship games during a 7 year span and stated in every single game.
As a starting freshmen player @ BHS, his team won the Gwinnett County Championship game. Just as we thought his season was over, he was invited to stay and continue to practice with the Varsity level, what an honor, what an experience. Sounds like fun and good times, however, workouts were harder, standing on the sideline on Friday nights were tough with cold and rainy weather for the most part, but he stuck it out and the Varsity Wolves played their final game at the GA Dome, where they won their 6th state title.
Wow, what a great season and what a great experience to be a part of as a freshmen, the excitement didn’t stop there, yesterday all Varsity players and Freshmen that were called up were sized for a Championship/Fan Ring….Oh MY! Who knew that 9 years ago when we started this journey that Robert would be part of the Varsity as a freshman.
Not that we are counting but this puts Robert as being a part of 7 “Championship” games, with winning 5 of those 7, over a 9 season span, we can’t wait to see what the next 3 seasons hold or what this seasons “RING” will look like, we hope there will be plenty more, I’ll keep you posted~
Go Big Green!
Hope you enjoy some pics from this past season from the freshmen championship game and Rob at the Dome…

Hook ‘em Horns….

….well I guess 1 out of 3 is not too bad, for a moment there I thought we were going to be 0 for 3. With Dallas having a disappointing loss, a couple of Sunday’s ago, and Texas Tech falling to Ole’ Miss., although we were not as upset with that lost, we were proud and happy for Melvin. However, if the Longhorns would have lost last night, I don’t know if I could have taken it. But in the end with only seconds left to go McCoy did his thing and pulled out the upset! It was great; it’s a good feeling to have to know not all is lost and we can still be proud of a Texas team this season.
Well now that football is officially over for our clan, we are happy to move forward to soccer and Emma may even give softball another shot…time will tell!

New Year = New Beginnings….

…I have never been a “new year resolution” kind of girl, I still really am not, not sure if it has helped or hurt, but none the less, every New Year brings new beginnings. Big Raymond is ready to take his business to a new level, even with these economic crises we are all in. Lil Raymond is getting ready for second semester of his first year of college. Robert is getting ready for his second semester of high school, his freshmen year continues and we move on to soccer now. Emma is just trying to figure out how she can stay home, she is not ready for the second half of preschool. As for me, well I’m well underway of a new year.
Yesterday was my first day of the New Year to get into a routing/rhythm. Church was great; we celebrated Tim & Wanda recent marriage with a small shower. Small Group was as always great. We discussed the difference between “happiness” & “Joy”. Which is caused for its own blog topic, I think I will write something up on that during the week, so stay posted.
Today is the first day back at work, after being off for two weeks (Emma & I really enjoyed our time off, she is still at home for one more day), we are doing the “Biggest Loser Challenge”, God and everyone knows I need to lose a few pounds or so, and well nothing better than some competitive challenge to motivate me as well as coworkers sharing motivating moments and encouragement. Soccer work outs will continue beginning tomorrow, so we will be busy between mine and Robert’s schedule. Until next time stay safe and hope you and yours has a Great 2009!
