Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to…

…me…Oh yeah and happy anniversary too. Just another day on the calendar for most but for us, it was the beginning of a new life 20 something years ago when we got married.

When we took our vows who knew for richer and for poorer would be thought of as the way we see them know. We have been through thick and thin, but it has only made us stronger. As times are tight in this economy we have learned to be more frugal than ever and today was no different.

We enjoyed cupcakes that Em made for us, a dinner for 2 for free from Provino's and topped it off with a movie on the sofa. It's what we do, it's who we are, and it's what we love…to be with each other and enjoy each other's company!

My favorite quote about marriage is still the same, even if Stacy thinks it mushy or not, but here it goes: "A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." Here is to falling in love all over again and again and again.

One thing different about this year, in having working boys is that we got gifts from the boys that we didn't purchase for each other, if that makes sense. All on their own they went out and picked out what they thought we would love, and guess what? They know what we love. Raymond got a new pair of Ray-Ban shades and I got a Wii fit balance board and game. These are things we would never buy for ourselves during this time, but they were loved and appreciated.

One good thing about sharing the same b-day, is we get to both eat for free...I bet Provino's didn't think about this one :D

Mo Mo Ya is always a …

…good choice for a Father's day lunch.

The boys treated their dad to a great lunch for father's day and everyone had their fill.

There is nothing more entertaining than a great chef cooking on a hibachi grill right in front of your face.

Overall it was a great and relaxing day.

Here is to all the daddy's, father's, pops, or whatever you call your father figure. Hope your Father's Day was a great one too!

3 down…

…ONE to go! Hodges O-Line Camp was this past week, as usual it was hotter than Hades in Middle Georgia, or at least that is what folks think, I wouldn't know, nor do I want to know how hot it is in Hell, but that is how this camp is known to the line. We did the usual, shop the night before for the midnight snacks, new socks and all those other things that a growing boy needs for camp.

Between work, summer reading and football, I'm not sure how Rob does it all, I think this past week was some kind of break from the norm since his summer started. It was quite around here for a few days with all my boyz gone, but when they got back, they were hot and tired and what better way to keep that lineman bonding going than to have a dip in the pool and that's just what they did. After being so exhausted from this past week, they managed to gather some inner strength and have a good time…shhh…don't let Coach Cutt know they still had some energy left!

Big Rob...a.k.a. Raymond, Contreras, and other names we prefer not to use on the web :)

Soccer Camp ’10…

…new year, new camp facilities, and new faces…but we still have some of the old ones too, it's great to see the little ones grow up before your eyes. This marked the 4th year of soccer camp and outside of working with the kids, the most exciting part of camp was playing on the new turf, it gave us high school coaches and high school camp counselors who will return next year a sneak peek of what to expect when we hit the ground running next year when we start our season. We went from a 4 day camp week to 5 days this year and by the end of the week, we have decided to go back to 4 days next year, 5 days is just too long for the little ones. As usual, this is a busy time of the year, along with having soccer camp the same week one of my biggest state report is due, I was also "on-call" for jury duty and actually had to miss one day of camp to report. Thank goodness, I didn't get assigned a case, but talk about feeling like I was being pulled in every which but can…yeah that was me. However soccer camp was a nice break from reality and the kids, well they are just a reminder on why I do what I do, in keeping with the past 3 years tradition the group grew larger! Here are a few pics from the week:
