…we beat Fitzgerald 38-28, in the 4th round of the playoffs and have earned the opportunity to play for the State Title next week.
There is nothing sweeter than that, especially when no one expected this team to even be here. The AJC, predicted us to lose, I think Raymond will not being buying that paper anymore (at least for a day, he can't usually go more than a day w/out reading it)! This was a hard fought battle and it would come down to who would make the most mistakes and well it was not Buford. We were able to capitalize on the ones made by the Fitzgerald Hurricanes and turned their team from a Category 5 storm to a tropical depression!
This will be a game to remember, there are only a handful (Commerce, Bowden, Charlton to name a few) that stay with you and this will be one of them. It was a four hour drive, but thanks to the Bratton's, we drove down in style in a new suburban, with heated seats (we needed them tonight), and had a blast to and from the game. John couldn't make it to the game; however Randy, Stacy, Raymond, Andy, BC, & I made it a trip to remember! Oh yea, Happy Birthday Randy, it was a pleasure spending it with you!
For more info on the game itself you can read this article at the Gwinnett Daily Post! Being the last team in the county in the hunt for a title, we are getting a lot of coverage…how cool is that!
Hopefully the pics below will give you an idea of our adventure J

All I can say is: It's great to be a Buford Wolf! Go BIG Green, bring home another win and another RING!
Oh yeah, the traditional Waffle House after game meal was a blast…we were there about 3:00 a.m., I had to warn Robert on the kind of folks that are usually eating at this time in the morning…it was fun, we ate good food, enjoyed each other’s company, the win and the entertainment of the folks who are out at this time of the hour!
